He started as a marine surveyor, later headed loss prevention engineering, and spent more than a decade as a leading underwriter in marine builders risks. That technical, hands-on background shapes Bedrock’s disciplined approach to marine risk. At a market-leading MGA, he founded and grew a multinational marine division to the largest in Europe and was Managing Director of the Benelux business.

Pim de Pooter leads marine hull underwriting at Bedrock Specialty, with more than 15 years of experience across the hull market. Before joining Bedrock, he served as lead class underwriter for a market-leading ocean and inland hull portfolio. His deep technical grounding underpins Bedrock's hands-on, pragmatic approach to hull risk. At a market-leading MGA, he served as Lead Underwriter, Marine Hull, managing a large, Benelux based leading marine portfolio.
